EdSurge - Nov.29, 2018
Good Shepherd Episcopal School is proud to host the EdSurge Teaching and Learning Circle. This event will focus on how current K-12 educators are changing their practices and capturing growth using a whole child approach to make learning better for students. We'll use storytelling to explore how educators are integrating whole child tenets into their practice. What challenges are educators facing as they move toward a whole child mindset? What are the successes? Through our personal stories in education, we'll share perceptions, motivations and approaches for shifting practices to create learning environments that integrate whole child educational domains.
Last year, EdSurge traveled to 44 cities around the country, convening educational leaders working in K-12 schools and districts to engage in real talk around personalized learning, workshop problems of practice and share their success stories. We published a collection of 80 stories, most of which were written by educators attending these events. With the ongoing support of the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, we are continuing our journey across the United States. Our newly renamed Teaching & Learning Circles bring K-12 educators and school leaders together, support local education communities and create authentic experiences to share, listen and learn from one another. If you are a teacher, school leader or district administrator, please join us for an evening of sharing stories and conversation around changing practices in education!
It will be a night of storytelling and conversation, where the focus will be on sharing experiences and learning from one another. You should walk away with new connections and new ideas.
EdSurge is hosting this event to learn from you, report on stories of change and look for potential writers interested in working with an editor to share their stories out on the EdSurge network.
Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. Thanks to our friends at Good Shepherd Episcopal School for hosting us!
Come connect with folks from all over the Dallas-Fort Worth, enjoy great conversation and learn from other passionate educators!
EdSurge is a news and media company that reports on educational innovation and technology. We aim to connect the makers, users and knowledge-seekers of edtech who share a common goal of improving teaching and learning. We do this through writing, researching and sharing stories about what emerging technologies can — and cannot — do to support learning among all students in K-12 and in higher education. We also connect people through our jobs board, virtual and live workshops and conferences. Get more information at EdSurge.com.
