extended day Program - Capers/pumas
Our Extended Day Program is for students and families looking for a safe place for students from 3:00-6:00 p.m. daily. We offer a variety of options to accommodate our GSES families' busy schedules. You will make your selection(s) during the registration process.
Extended Day Program Options:
Early Bird Care - 7:00-7:30 AM
The Early Bird Care option is available to students and gives parents flexibility in their morning schedules. Early Bird Care is from 7:00-7:30 AM and is housed in the Nix Building. Students are escorted safely to carpool at 7:30 AM.
A 5-day option is available for students to participate and enjoy the Extended Day program after school 5 days a week.
The 2-day option gives parents flexibility in their schedules. This option offers a choice of M-W or T-Th.
The athletic option is available for the 7th and 8th grade students involved in GSES after school sports activities. Students are welcome in Extended Day at the conclusion of the athletic practice at a reduced rate during their sports seasons.
The drop-in option allows parents even more flexibility in their schedules by reserving a space for specific days they need coverage for their children.
Extended Day Curriculum:
Extended Day is a curriculum-based enrichment program divided into two sections, according to grade level. Capers is for students in PreK through 4th grades, and Pumas is for students in 5th through 8th grades. The curriculum includes a healthy snack, peer socialization, structured activities led by the teachers, homework support, daily required independent reading, crafts, and outdoor play. The program provides an extension of the same nurturing, safe, and structured environment Good Shepherd families know and trust.
