PreKindergarten Options

PreK children

As the first step in our Early Childhood Program, our PreK students begin their Good Shepherd journey by learning through exploration, play, and curiosity. Our program, based on the Reggio Emilia approach, allows each child to reach his or her fullest potential through developmentally appropriate practice of experiential learning.

Early Childhood education, particularly in PreK, is one of the most important passages in the life of a child. It is the foundation that will help guide and determine a child’s future success to grow into the best human being he or she can be. At Good Shepherd Episcopal School, we understand each child is a unique individual with the potential to learn. The learning environment, both in and outside of the classroom, allows our youngest students opportunities to explore, discover, and traverse the world around them. Student-centered teaching, hands-on learning, and creating a safe environment provide our students the opportunity to become engaged, creative, and purposeful in their learning. Within each classroom, a family community is developed which promotes respect, responsibility, and opportunities to serve others in need. Our PreK students leave with a love of learning and sense of confidence in themselves as learners and leaders.

Good Shepherd Episcopal School offers two options for our incoming PreK families:

Full Day PreK

Our full day option includes rigorous age-appropriate academics, as well as exceptional enrichment five days a week, with an optional noon pick up for Mondays and Fridays.

Early Release PreK

The early release option provides our full day academic program in the mornings while providing additional flexibility on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with an early release at 12:00 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students will stay for the full day. Students remaining for the full day will be qualified for Extended Day and Encore classes on those days.
