Dear Good Shepherd Families,
Out of continued concern for our community, the decision has been made to extend snow days for the remainder of this week, February 18th and 19th. Our campus will be closed, and we will not be participating in distance learning. We currently have a significant number of our faculty who do not have power, internet, and/or water. We have heard from many of our families who are also experiencing these hardships. Our hope is by closing the rest of this week, we will help ease the ongoing demand on area power grids, allow time for our community to get reconnected, and for the roads to clear.
We will plan on returning to campus on Monday, February 22nd, and events planned for this week will be rescheduled. We will continue to update our website, as necessary, as well as provide information through our emergency system broadcasts, social media, and local news outlets.
Chaplain Rhonda has provided a prayer for our community:
May we all find means to stay warm and safe while the Dallas area is dealing with power outages and record-breaking low temperatures here and everywhere. May You watch over us during all the difficult storms in our lives. Help us also to focus on You as we enter this season of Lent and turn our prayers towards you and your love for us with gratitude as you navigate us through. In your name we pray. AMEN
Please stay safe and warm!
