Year-End Thoughts from Chaplain Rhonda

Dear Good Shepherd Families,

This is an excerpt from a poem written in 1869 and reprinted during the pandemic in 1919. Here we are in 2020...history does seem to repeat itself.

“... And people stayed home and read books and listened, and they rested and they did exercises and they made Art and they played.

They learned new ways of being, stopped, and listened more deeply.

Someone meditated, someone prayed, someone met their shadow. And people began to think differently and people healed...

They created new ways of living and completely healed the earth just as they were healed...”

GSES is stronger, GSES is greater, and GSES is more resilient in the face of challenging times than we ever thought possible. Thank you for being a family. Called to be one. By the power of our creator, we stand stronger together as a community, rich in the knowledge that we are far greater than the sum of our parts. I am proud to serve you and look forward to next fall, whatever challenges it may bring.

1 Corinthians 12:14, “The body is not supported by one person, but by all of us. We are one; we are strongest working together in unity. Teamwork is the key to living life in harmony, so that we can do God's will.”

Have a blessed summer. Until we meet again.

Peace,

Chaplain Rhonda
