Dear Good Shepherd Families,
The New Year gives me an opportunity to look to the future with hope and optimism. This has been a challenging year, but I do see many paths to get to a more typical school year for 2021-2022. This letter includes information about upcoming re-enrollment and some key dates for the 2021-2022 school year.
Re-enrollment is just around the corner! Please review the information below. Those who opted into the Tuition Guarantee Program by signing a divisional contract, and are not changing divisions, will not have a tuition increase next year. (Note: We have three divisions: early childhood is prekindergarten through primer, lower school is first through fourth grades, and middle school is fifth through eighth grades.)
I opted into the Tuition Guarantee Program (Divisional Contract):
For the nearly 70% of you who opted into the divisional contract through our Tuition Guarantee Program in the past few years, you will not see a tuition increase and will be receiving only an agreement rather than a contract. Please complete the agreement, and return it with your $1,000 deposit by February 11, 2021 to reserve your child’s space for 2021-2022.
I opted into the Tuition Guarantee Program (Divisional Contract), but my child is changing divisions:
We know you have enjoyed having several years of steady tuition! This year, you have another decision to make. Again, you may opt into the Tuition Guarantee Program for your child’s next division at the current tuition rate for the 2021-2022 school year. During that division, you will not have another tuition increase for your child. For information on the tuition for next year, please see the next section under Annual Contract. You may also opt for an annual contract which allows for tuition increases each year.
I selected the Annual Contract:
As we established our budget for the 2021-2022 school year, again, we wanted to ensure raises for our faculty and staff. Faculty and staff salaries and benefits make up approximately 75% of our annual expenses. In order to fund raises, as in most years, there will be a 4% tuition increase. Please visit our website for the 2021-2022 tuition rates. For those families who chose the traditional, annual contract rather than a divisional contract, you will be receiving a new contract on January 28, 2021 reflecting the new tuition rate. The contract, along with the required $1,000 deposit, is due February 11, 2021 in order to reserve your child’s space for 2021-2022.
What is the Tuition Guarantee Program?
As you may remember, the Tuition Guarantee Program provides our families the option to lock in the tuition cost each year for the duration of a student’s time in his or her particular division. This opportunity provides a very substantial savings during a student’s time at Good Shepherd. Please visit our website for more information about the Tuition Guarantee Program. For those who would now like to choose to participate in the Tuition Guarantee Program, there is still time! When you receive your new contract, simply select the divisional contract option, and you will not experience another tuition increase while your student is in his/her current division.
Important Dates for 2021-2022 School Year
I would also like to share some important dates with you for the 2021-2022 school year. While we have not yet scheduled every event, COE trip, conference date, etc., these key dates will help your family plan for the school holidays and breaks.
Thank you for your confidence in Good Shepherd Episcopal School, and I am looking forward to continuing to partner with you in the education of your child.
Julie McLeod, Ph.D.
