Assessment for Inclusion and Multiculturalism (AIM)

Good Shepherd Episcopal School is committed to creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all students, faculty, staff, and community. This year, we have seen our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work reflected in diversity of literature in classrooms, intentional inclusivity lessons during middle school retreats, and professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff. We are pleased to announce our new DEI webpage to you!

This spring, we are inviting our community to participate in the Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism (AIM), and your responses to this survey are strictly confidential and anonymous. This survey tool is designed to evaluate diversity, multiculturalism, equity, and justice in independent schools from an “appreciative inquiry” approach. AIM focuses on finding the positive elements that lead to discovering and building on success and positive energy that lead to change. This data will assist Good Shepherd in gathering information on the school’s climate that can be used to plan future diversity initiatives and to build and sustain an inclusive school community.

The Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, parents, 7th and 8th grade students, and alumni are strongly encouraged to participate to benchmark Good Shepherd’s school climate. The online climate survey will be open April 19-30, 2021, and we will send you a link via email. Please watch for this important communication on April 19th. This survey should take an estimated 20 minutes to complete.

We are excited about your participation to help build and strengthen our DEI program and discover what is most effective for advancing inclusivity at Good Shepherd Episcopal School.
