The Bluebonnet Café was a HUGE success this year, even though it may have looked a little different from past years. Fourth graders really exemplified the Good Shepherd mission statement of "Leading with Courage" and "Serving with Compassion." The Bluebonnet Café specifically focuses on kids helping others, and they did just that!
Due to the generosity of our lower school community, faculty, and staff, we were able to accomplish two goals this year - honoring our front line workers, and giving back within our own neighborhood! We donated and delivered more than 50 “Breakfasts in a Bag” to frontline workers at Baylor Scott and White: The Heart Hospital. Breakfasts were distributed between five different departments, including the Emergency Department, and they provided many smiles!
We were also able to give back to our own community through the Bluebonnet Café service-learning project, so in addition to taking breakfasts to the front line, we are very proud to donate $1,887 to the North Texas Food Bank.
