Good Shepherd Fall Extracurricular Activities, 3rd-8th Grades

Dear Good Shepherd Families,

In light of the school’s social distancing guidelines, and after consulting with area private schools, Good Shepherd Episcopal School has made the difficult decision not to offer extracurricular activities for the fall. Extracurricular activities include: fall sports (volleyball, soccer, football, and cross country), lower and middle school choirs, and our music ensembles (Orff, Drum, and Recorder).

While we recognize the importance of these activities to the physical and mental well-being of our students, extracurricular activities do not meet the protocols and procedures plan we have implemented for the return to campus this fall. The school is committed to keeping our students safe and respecting the classroom cohort structure throughout the day. We also know many of you are being very careful about your families’ exposure through various activities. Our physical education curriculum has been adjusted to adhere to our social distancing guidelines while still teaching our students important athletics skills, sportsmanship, and how to be a team player.

Good Shepherd will continue to evaluate the viability of all our programs for the 2nd trimester/winter season. We will keep all families updated as decisions are made.

Thank you for your continued support as we move through this unprecedented time.

Sincerely,
