Warm Welcome from the GSPO President

Dear Good Shepherd Parents,

Welcome back to all our returning families and a warm welcome to our new families joining the Good Shepherd Episcopal School community! My name is Amie Long, and I’ll be serving as President of the Good Shepherd Parents’ Organization this year. The GSPO is a volunteer, parent-led organization that supports the school through fundraising, community-building events, and special programs throughout the year. We have a 44-member governing board, and all GSES parents are members of the GSPO.

We are so thrilled to welcome parents back to the Good Shepherd campus this year. Last year was challenging in so many ways for our administrators, teachers, and students, but I know it was also difficult for our parents who love being an active part of the Good Shepherd community. Please stay updated with our GSPO events and activities, as well as volunteer opportunities, on the GSPO webpage (there’s also a link to the GSPO page in the Community section of the GSES website). In addition, continue to look out for the Good Shepherd Weekly Newsletter, delivered to your inboxes each Thursday.

The GSPO is looking forward to welcoming back many of our wonderful traditions this year, such as the GSPO Carnival (coming soon on October 16!), the Super Dads cornhole and golf tournaments, the Angel Tree and Celebration of Giving, and the Festival of the Arts. We’ll also be changing things up a bit with a fantastic GSPO Spring Fundraiser to be held on March 26.

The incoming 2021-2022 GSPO board members and volunteers have been hard at work over the summer. Thank you to these wonderful parent volunteers for giving their time and talents towards making this a truly exceptional year for the entire Good Shepherd community.

My sincere wishes for a fabulous school year to you and your families!

Amie Long
