Mindfulness - New Parent Educational Group Meetings
Mindfulness - New Parent Educational Group Meetings

Are you seeking a supportive environment where you can become more knowledgeable about the greatest job of your life—parenting? We all have busy schedules, too many activities, and too few hours in the day. At times, parents are overwhelmed with thoughts, emails, errands, and emotions that have to be handled right now! When we are distracted, we tend to react to our children's behavior from a place that may not reflect our most loving selves. As parents, we are looking for a respite from this chaos. Therefore, we are launching a parent educational group emphasizing stress reduction, strengthening the connection with our children, and community building. Good Shepherd has offered us the use of CCL 101, and we are planning to meet a couple of times per school year for about an hour for each meeting, to be facilitated by experts in the field of parenting.

Our first meeting will be Friday, December 14, 2018 in CCL 101 at 8:00 a.m. We want to make every effort to provide our parent community with the support it needs through this new, educational group. Come join us as we share our parenting experience and assess the needs of, and topics for, the group. We hope meeting together will keep us from moving too fast through our days, and instead, will lead us to find a way to relax into each teaching moment. Let's help each other learn how to better manage this hustle and bustle of our daily lives and find ways to cultivate our own mindfulness.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at the first meeting on December 14th!
