What is that? It’s only one of the most iconic drumbeats of all time, and we all know it. And we all want to join in when we hear it. Bang the dashboard, stomp our foot, tap our pencils.

It’s this innate inclination towards rhythm—that everyone has, not just those who are naturally musically talented—that Orff Schulwerk taps into. And while of course Orff Schulwerk’s curriculum is not built around rock music, or iconic drumbeats necessarily, it celebrates—in a big way—the same instincts toward unbridled creativity, artistry, innovation, and improvisation, that the best musical expression all shares.

And at Good Shepherd, Orff training starts early, and continues, three times a week for eight years. It probably wouldn’t surprise you that, with all that specialized instruction, our Independent Study music students perform at a higher than college level. The Orff method, while fun, delivers serious results.
