Disaster relief, it's what we do.

Good Shepherd's Disaster Relief and Recovery (DRR) program was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in the fall of 2012. Since then, the Good Shepherd community has helped support both local and neighboring state disasters by mobilizing our resources quickly to work hand-in-hand with other volunteer organizations.

The real story lies with our community who truly lives the school's mission of serving with compassion. These important service experiences provide examples of core values so critical in the formation and education of our students.

Current Focus - Hunt, Texas

The DRR Team is preparing to deploy to Hunt, Texas, early Monday morning, July 7. The team will set up the rolling kitchen at Hunt United Methodist Church, providing hot meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) for first responders, volunteers, and members of the community impacted by the devastating floods.

While the full scope of the damage is still being assessed, our mission is to offer comfort and nourishment to those in need in Hunt and surrounding areas such as Ingram, Kerrville, and Comfort.

Although no specific supply requests have been made yet, we are ready to help in any way possible during our time on the ground. If you would like to support our relief efforts, please consider making a donation. Every gift will go directly toward assisting those affected by disasters.

Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see photos of DRR supporting this worthwhile effort and for updates on how you can help.
